Recently we talked with many HR experts and Hiring managers and asked why most of the job seekers fail at the interview.
- Resume and cover Letter– they found that the resumes written by AI were well written which is why the ATS shortlisted, but the person couldn’t defend from the resume. These are the reasons why AI resumes kill your career.
- Lack of personalization: Your resume is your personal information, your picture, your personality, your representative, and your impression. AI resumes written by job seekers can’t present you well. You need to put lots of love and effort on your resume and make it outstanding.
- Similarity: The average number of applicants per job opening is 20, if the 20 resumes are written by AI, most of them might be similar.
- Lack of accuracy: AI may not accurately assess the qualifications, expertise, achievements, and skills of job seekers.
- Lie and exaggeration: AI exaggerates your skills or experience. Lying on your resume is a surefire way to get caught and disqualified from the job.
- Can not defend: The HR experts say that most of the applicants who used AI to write their resumes cannot defend the resume.
- Poor LinkedIn Profile – More than 900 million people use LinkedIn and According the Forbes 95 percent of organizations and recruiters are hiring using LinkedIn. I had a chance to meet the LinkedIn team and discuss the future of this platform. This platform is growing very fast and if your not using it, start using it today and send me the connection request. - Poor Interview Performance and dress code: 98 percent of applicants fail during the interview because of a Lack of confidence and poor performance. Poor communication skills, and not having enough information about the company and position are other reasons that cause failure at the interview. So do your homework, and collect information about the organization, and position, and understand the requirements. It also helps you to judge the organization. Sometimes it is better to be jobless instead of having a toxic job and work environment.
Also, dress well and make sure you have confident body language throughout the interview. Don’t exaggerate wearing very fancy schmancy clothes. Dress for success and dress for the position.
- Lack of maturity: the applicant’s weak body language, being negative, low energy, and lack of excitement about the work. unwilling to learn, swearing when they talk, oversharing, demanding, appearing too shy, interrupting while others are speaking, having no eye contact, not listening, and not being mentally present are other reasons you fail at the interview.
Suggestion: think before talking, some people first talk then think, don’t do it. Be humble, honest and confident explain your expertise and skills.
